California Tax Return Preparer Pleads Guilty to Preparing False Tax Returns

An El Cajon, California tax return preparer pleaded guilty today in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, to three counts of aiding and assisting in the preparation of a false tax return, announced Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Caroline D. Ciraolo, head of the Justice Department’s Tax Division, and U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy for the Southern District of California.

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA), as part of the California Food, Drug, and Medical Device Task Force, comprised of 10 district attorneys’ offices including Santa Clara, Alameda, Sonoma, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Santa Cruz, Shasta, and Solano Counties, announced a settlement today in a consumer protection action against Sears Holdings Management Corporation, formerly Sears Roebuck and Company (Sears).
