Two men accused of raping a German tourist in Hollywood in 2016 were convicted late Friday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Jurors found defendant Kenneth Mack (dob 12/23/88) guilty of two counts of forcible rape in concert and co-defendant Otis Barway (dob 4/11/93) guilty of one count of forcible rape in concert.

Barway is expected to be sentenced on July 24 in Department 109 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. Mack is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 18.

Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson of the Sex Crimes Division said in the early morning hours of Dec. 5, 2016, the defendants met the victim and lured her to an isolated rooftop.

Once there, Mack knocked her to the ground and the men raped her. The defendants were identified through DNA evidence, the prosecutor said. Jurors also convicted Mack of a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon and Barway of one count of misdemeanor assault in connection with an unrelated nonsexual attack on Nov. 30, 2016.

Mack additionally was convicted of second-degree robbery for an incident on Nov. 26, 2016. He also was convicted of rape and second-degree robbery for an assault on July 31, 2016.

Barway faces a maximum sentence of nine years and six months in state prison. Mack faces a maximum prison term of 215 years to life.

This case was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
